Well won 6-1 got to say thou our B team where close to taking more.
I had a call from Billy Pugh (Apple Tree "A") last night saying that he is struggling to get players this season, and is serioulsy considering withdrawing from the League. This would be a real shame as the Apple Tree has had two teams in the League for many years. If you, or you know of anyone that would like to play for the Apple Tree "A" then get in touch with me (use the Contacts page), and I can let Billy know. Even if you have registered for a team but haven't played yet this season you can still join the Apple Tree.
Thanks, John Tinkler
well we won our 1st game of the season hopefully plenty more to com

It was agreed to allow me to make the draw at the Stainton this Thursday. The first team drawn out will be in Division 1, the second will be in Division 2, the third in Division 1, the fourth in Division 2, and so on. I have worked out the fixtures, but cannot confirm anything yet as I need to know how many "A" and "B" teams are in each division (I can cope with 5 "A" and "B" teams in each division). This means that there will only be 18 weeks of fixtures, so I plan to play all cup competitions on a Thursday and mingle these up with League matches so that League matches don't finish too early in the season. So, there will be 2 or 3 weeks of League matches followed by 1 week of a particular cup match, then another 2 or 3 weeks of League, then 1 cup, and so on. When the fixture list is issued, it will be a lot clearer, but it should mean no Wednesday matches (or just a very small amount). This would take us to May with Final's Night being held on Friday 18th May (to be confirmed of course). I hope that makes sense, but it will all become clear at the next meeting (or before on the Web Site if I get chance).
Cheers, John

Hi Luke, just got back form holiday late last night, so there has been no new postings from me for the last two weeks. Hopefully the fixtures will be published on the Web next Wednesday if all is cleared up at the meeting. Cheers, John

Excellent night. Bit rowdy at times but all in a fun way. There was great camaraderie between all teams on the night which was great. Well done to everyone especially Mr. Tinkler ;)
Very close end to the season. Teal Arms pushed us all the way and were in fact 9 points clear at around the halfway stage. We had a shocking first half of the season but pulled together for the second half.
I've only played in the last two seasons but have seen a number of matches over a 10 year period, when I've been watching my mate Moody. I can say with certainty that the league is getting stronger all the time, especially over the last few years. Good stuff. There's not much between the top few teams at all really.
good luck to the griffin a in next round of the cup, well deserved win last night

Just a quick note for all teams who have to play in the Jubilee in the coming weeks, Leven Bank is currently closed and is likely to be so for the next 8 weeks (structural damage apparantly) so please make sure that you go another way round!
(Posted on 2010-03-05 22:36:00 by Andy Daly)
Both Linthorpe B teams got through in the fours last night. The Golden Jubilee B team are a good set of guys. Fun bunch.
There is no falling out to be done, but the bottom line is that people have to be registered to play in the League, and that includes competitions. It is up to the individuals and team captains to ensure that the rules are adhered to. This is not a full time job for me, so I need the help of everyone to ensure that the rules are obeyed, and this is the first year in many that the League has insisted that all registration forms are submitted in full (because we don't sign result cards anymore). Another point worth making is that I offered to place lists of all registered players on ths site, but this offer was not taken up at the AGM. Rest assured that I will be placing these lists on the Web next season, so this sort of situation cannot occur again. The irony of it is that if you had not asked for Peter to play, and played your Dad instead, then it may never have been picked up, but now your Dad cannot play either, as he is not on the list that I have from Billy. I am now checking all cup entries to ensure that players are registered. I am sure there are people out there that think you should challenge this decision, but even I cannot allow un-registered players to play after the closing date of 31 October.
Cheers, John

hiya john im sorry to cause so much trouble with this i dont want to fall out with you, im just writing to you what people are telling me to i accept were out end of! hopefully might do better in triples and individuals thanks john
(Posted on 2010-01-21 12:00:00 by john purdy)
I'd like to say thankyou to the members of the Golden Jubilee B team for agreeing to re-arrange our four man match with them. Good sportsmanship. Thanks again.
John, the registration sheet I have from Billy does not include your Dad's name (nor Peter's), so if you want to take it further I do not know how you will prove that your dad is registered? It's reassuring to know that "someone" in the Apple Tree seems to know more about who is registered than I do, maybe that "someone" has a different list to me and can provide me with the evidence. I said Peter could play purely on the grounds that the competition had not started, I did not think that I had to spell out the fact that he is supposed to be registered, after all, that is written into the rules. You need to discuss this with Billy. As he is your captain, then he must agree with your right to appeal. Until I hear from Billy, then the result stands. Cheers, John
(Posted on 2010-01-20 12:53:00 by John Tinkler)
ive spoke to someone in the apple tree A and they've told me that my dad is registered, and they also said about the 4 man i have case to appeal and get the match replayed and not play peter this time because when i asked you said peter was able to play, so thats why my dad let him play last week and not play himself!
(Posted on 2010-01-19 20:53:00 by john purdy)
Hi John,
You asked me whilst I was at work, and so I had no idea of knowing when I replied (I took in good faith that you knew). You have to appreciate that I have a full time job, a senior position in a large manufacturing company, and this consumes most of my time. It is up to the team captains to ensure that all players are registered, and I just don't have the time to police all matters 24x7 relating to the League. Incidentally, according to my records, your dad is not registered either (perhaps you need to speak to Billy about this). Sorry....John
(Posted on 2010-01-16 10:16:00 by John Tinkler)
hi john
fine i have no problem with that but surely you must have known that when i told you about peter, you should have known that he wasnt registered with the apple tree and therefore we would have not have played the match in the first place as my dad could not have made the next round if we had won.
(Posted on 2010-01-16 12:41:00 by john purdy)
Just want to wish jubilee 'a' all the best for the rest of the season. If you play like you did last night you'll have everychance of getting off the bottom-stick at it lads and lass
(Posted on 2010-01-15 21:57:00 by Dave Glazebrook)
Hi John,
I am sorry but I have just found out last night that Peter is not a registered player, and if he did play then I am afraid you must forfeit the match. These are the rules as I amsure that you are aware.

billy pugh has forgot to add peter mcmenamin as a fifth man for our 4 man team of mike purdy, john purdy, simon hopkins and john reid.
the reason we wanted him added was because mike purdy works away and we dont know were he will be on wednesday, we would be grateful if you would put him in our team

The subject of registration forms was discussed in detail at the last meeting, and they will be handed in at the next meeting (unlike previous seasons). If not, then I will pursue them until I have them all. Don't worry, I will end up with a list of all registered players by the end of October (as per the rules). If the Committee (representative from each team) think it is a good idea to have the names on this site then I will upload them...watch this space. Thanks
(Posted on 2009-09-24 18:19:00 by John Tinkler)
i personally think that if you could post them on this site it would make people aware of players registered for all to see and stop unregistered players in vital matches, i think all honest captains would appreciate this, could,nt you e-mail them about this issue to ensure all forms are handed in on the next meeting, this i think would ensure all forms are handed in this season. cheers
I have deliberatley not allowed people to post documents/photos etc direct to this site, as I have seen many sites ruined by people trying to be "clever" and spoiling it for everyone. You can e-mail your forms to me, or hand them in at the next meeting at the end of October, and I can scan them in and publish them all on this site if people think it is worthwhile. I will bring it up at the meeting. Thanks for your suggestion (whoever you are). Cheers, John

Hi John just a quick question, reguarding registration forms, is it possible to post filled in forms on this site to minimise the risk of unregisererd players taking part in matches.

It was agreed between the other two 4-man semi final teams to play the match on another evening, but as yet this has not been arranged. They have 3 weeks to get a result.

Cheers, John
ive spoke to someone in the apple tree A and they've told me that my dad is registered, and they also said about the 4 man i have case to appeal and get the match replayed and not play peter this time because when i asked you said peter was able to play, so thats why my dad let him play last week and not play himself!
Hi John,
You asked me whilst I was at work, and so I had no idea of knowing when I replied (I took in good faith that you knew). Sorry....John
hi john
fine i have no problem with that but surely you must have known that when i told you about peter, you should have known that he wasnt registered with the apple tree and therefore we would have not have played the match in the first place as my dad could not have made the next round if we had won.
Just want to wish jubilee 'a' all the best for the rest of the season. If you play like you did last night you'll have everychance of getting off the bottom-stick at it lads and lass
Hi John,
I am sorry but I have just found out last night that Peter is not a registered player, and if he did play then I am afraid you must forfeit the match. These are the rules as I amsure that you are aware.
John
hiya john
Just to let you know apple tree 4 man beat endevour tonight
thank you very much john!!!
No problem. As the competition has not started yet, I have added Peter in. This is standard practice so long as I find out before the start of the competition. Thanks, John
hiya john
billy pugh has forgot to add peter mcmenamin as a fifth man for our 4 man team of mike purdy, john purdy, simon hopkins and john reid.
the reason we wanted him added was because mike purdy works away and we dont know were he will be on wednesday, we would be grateful if you would put him in our team
thanks

**************** 8 POINTS CLEAR ***********************
For NOW. lol
Fountain were beaten 4-3 by the Endeavour. Just one result to come in and then the League Table will be published
Would have been, it was too early for me this morning. I remember someone hit a 180 just not me. :(
People should start putting results onto here.
Anyone know how the Fountain got on ???
I heard it was M.Kelly who hit the 180 from the Jubilee?
A lovely 6 - 1 win last night, Or as we say 6 Joe Allen. J.Hunter from G. Jubilee A hit a 180(i think it was him, its too early.) lol.
Nice 4-3 win by the Teal Arms last night, after being 3-0 down to come back 4-3 is rather impressive.
Thanks Glyn, I have corrected this now....cheers!
John, on the list of 180 scorers you have Paul Robson's 180's split up ;)
glad the spitty is 5 points clear, doing well with out me for a change. lol :)
Good win for the spitfire last night as it is now past midnight and is a friday. :)
RESULT: Apple Tree B 2 - 5 Spitfire
I'm just waiting for 2 results, and the table will be published....patience Mr. Bullseye
does anyone have any results for thursday 24/9/09
The subject of registration forms was discussed in detail at the last meeting, and they will be handed in at the next meeting (unlike previous seasons). If not, then I will pursue them until I have them all. Don't worry, I will end up with a list of all registered players by the end of October (as per the rules). If the Committee (representative from each team) think it is a good idea to have the names on this site then I will upload them...watch this space. Thanks
i personally think that if you could post them on this site it would make people aware of players registered for all to see and stop unregistered players in vital matches, i think all honest captains would appreciate this, could,nt you e-mail them about this issue to ensure all forms are handed in on the next meeting, this i think would ensure all forms are handed in this season.
Hi John just a quick question, reguarding registration forms, is it possible to post filled in forms on this site to minimise the risk of unregisererd players taking part in matches.
loving the updates john, saves me botherin you :-)
Good Result in terms of fixtures, john, hope the season goes well.

It was agreed between the other two 4-man semi final teams to play the match on another evening, but as yet this has not been arranged. They have 3 weeks to get a result.
What happened to the other 4man semi-final, spitty in final playing ???
Excellent looking site. It's great to see a history section for a league. So much is forgotten in most leagues. Well done and keep it going.
Great site John...things have changed since I last remember it in the 80's :-)
